Glam up on St. Patrick’s Day with the ColourPop Just My Luck Palette

ColourPop Just My Luck Palette

I’ve searched high and low for single shades of green shadow and I was lucky to find a few from Makeup Geek. I even bought the Huda Beauty Emerald Obsessions Palette but I was sorely disappointed because they weren’t that pigmented.

I’ve been on a ColourPop kick lately, and when the Just My Luck Palette released last week, I knew I had to get it. And it arrived on Monday…just in time before St. Patty’s Day!

And at less than half the cost of the Huda Palette ($12 vs. $27), the same amount of shades (9 in total for both)…and the shades in the ColourPop palette are not much smaller than Huda’s (0.04 oz vs. 0.05 oz)

ColourPop Just My Luck Palette

The ColourPop Just My Luck Palette has 9 shades of green that will have you be the envy of your friends once you create stunning looks, from mint to olive to emerald.

All shades are really pigmented, as usual with ColourPop. Sometimes I regret buying so many high-end palettes when their quality is superb for a fraction of the cost. I really did not have to swipe that much to show how opaque these shades are. There’s a little bit of fallout with the mattes, but the shimmers are flawless. All shades were fairly easy to blend too.

Here are the shade descriptions from ColourPop:

Chances Are…: matte fresh mint
Kiss My Hass: matte spearmint
50-50: metallic mossy green
Big Banks: metallic jade
Mary Jane: metallic chartreuse
Olive U: metallic olive green
Act Natural: matte emerald
Mo Bamba: matte forest green
Charmed: matte khaki oilve

My favorite shades have to be 50-50 and Olive You. These shades are also pretty long-lasting even if you didn’t add a primer. I used the primer all over my browbone but I lined my lower lash with Act Natural and set it with powder (along with the concealer under my eyes) and it lasted all throughout work, and even during my Pure Barre class!

I know this look was a bit much for a work environment, and I just wanted to share with you guys how jewel-toned and richly pigmented the shades in this palette are.

I’m so happy ColourPop released a green-themed palette. Before I started getting serious about makeup (like before I wore contacts at 22 and bought my first foundation at 23), I wore an emerald green baked eyeshadow from Milani every single day. I never hit pan because Milani’s baked eyeshadows are obviously dome-shaped but I made a huge dent on it.

I highly, highly recommend you purchase this palette. Run, don’t walk because it’s still currently in stock!
